Eight months apart with my consultant that I said most of the problems with my eyesight. And I kept hearing this shooting at table three, 612 months. Oregon through strong notes constantly with being repeated. And at this stage are into Sera, said. My vision. And she says caution optician. Opposite going senile tissue. So when alone some other politicians went oh. We had a problem anyway, so I'm going to have to send you to hospital. Subsequently, she wrote a letter. Saying it is urgent sent me up to the hospital like popular when I get an appointment. Recently came back and then I saw the specialist at the hospital. Yeah exactly and sit down. This is all caused by the stroke. So who said it was urgent? Even so, I felt a bit off by that, you know, obviously it sounds or wasn't me. I'm simply optician, he said, well, it isn't really. There's nothing we can do for you. Find strokes cause it. Let's see cover piercing. And there are more interesting fact that have a stroke because they were so young numbers that fit my cereal. Because I am and they said. But why did it happen? And I said, you know, being listing White St. So that was it. And he says, well, if you like in services more, I'll see you back in three months. Then we get there three and six months apart. So it's like this is nothing changed. Just the same straw. Sorry, nothing we can do for you. And it was just like that goodbye. And that was it. So I left none the wiser about stroke. None the wiser about my vision and subsequent impacts that handle me. I said no treatment nothing and from where I am now is a lot going back. I had to learn the hard way. I'm about getting around adapting and adopting his heart. If you don't do any guidelines, and that's probably the best. If someone could have pointed out to me or give me some idea where was and was helping, would've been fantastic. Please have somebody with me 24 hours a day but I was extremely quickly had speech therapy for six years. Unfortunately, it wasn't the same with my vision problems. It was a year after my stroke. After bumping into somebody in a supermarket for A and then mutilating that I was drunk as my state therapist if I could have more help I could blind stick so people see that I've got a problem. So since in my speech service got in touch with social services went to I clinic and became Risley. Partly cited that some really good training with the blind social worker that philosophy is to just walk around my small quiet. Where I lived then, as I got more confident, I learn how to deal with my walking in a bigger town called Kendall. So it's a pity only got help when they asked it myself. Being the hospital knew had vision problems. But when asked, it triggered a whole lot of help. After about. I think we're about three or four months. I was still in hospital. I went and saw that I presume she's an opthamologist, and she did an eye test and diagnose me with muscle weakness, and now no, it was called nyst Agnes, and I'm a glasses wearer. Anyway, I'm very short sighted and she put some temporary prisms on the inside of my glasses. That helped tremendously. It was probably about 20 months into my stroke recovery, but I. Completed the courage to see if I could drive again and that's when I went to my mobility center and they did the visual field check and Tommy thankfully that my visual field is actually fine that I was safe to drive that for me was a great big boost. My ego and I'm on my recovery I think. In hospital I was given. A series of exercises to do to try and strengthen the muscles. I'm not sure whether they worked or not. Found very difficult to do, just looking up and looking down. I couldn't tell what I was looking up or looking down so I did the exercises, but I think I was fairly compliant. I found it very hard to to actually understand what my eyes were doing. It is, I think there's some numbness. And it was. It was difficult. I think that was the only kind of treatment I got for the for the visual effects. Long term sales. I am 19 years power stroke. Now the prisons are in built into my glasses. They really do help until the key member or by stroke research groups where I met some people who are involved in vision and subsequently Premier began to learn a lot and that someone actually examined me and it will be exactly what happened to my. I said no one had ever taken the time to do it and so from that part and I'm very kind to people that met and. Could have done for me as a person and mainly for my quality of life is come back and more confident. I do things but it was a hard way. I feel that people shouldn't have to confirm that not Windows things available for me to do.
